Documents & releases
Documents is the end-to-end paperwork workflow. You build a document from a template, send it for electronic signature, and the signed copy attaches itself to the shoot, location, or person it belongs to. Model releases, property releases, NDAs, and contracts are all first-class documents — no scanning, no email chains.
Templates and documents
Your studio keeps a library of templates. A document is one instance created from a template — fill its fields, add the people who sign, and send it. Drafting a release once and reusing it on every shoot is the point.
The signing workflow
Every document moves through a fixed lifecycle: draft while it's prepared, generated once rendered, signing while it waits on signatures, signed when everyone has completed it, and void if it's cancelled before completion. The status tells you at a glance what still has to happen.
Signers can sign in parallel — everyone at once — or in sequence, where each receives their turn in a fixed order. Open a document to see its signature timeline: who's signed, who's pending, and in what order.
Signers without an account
Most release signers — models, property owners — aren't ShootHive users. They sign through a secure link and never log in. The signed copy attaches back to the shoot, location, or person automatically.
A document that's out for signing can't be edited. If something's wrong, void it and start a new one from the template; the voided copy stays on record.
