People
People is your directory of everyone who works on shoots — photographers, stylists, makeup artists, models, and any outside contributor. Each person carries the rates, profile, and contact details you draw on when you book and pay them.
People and members
A person is a directory entry — someone you book on shoots, who may never need an account. A member is someone with a login who works inside ShootHive.
Every member can be linked to a person, but most people are not members. You can run a full directory of crew and talent without giving anyone a login.
Profiles and rates
Each person has a profile holding day rates, languages, availability, contact details, portfolio links, and a reference photo. The rates feed your budgets; the reference photo is used on releases.
People are grouped by type — Photographer, Stylist, Model, and so on — from a catalog you define, so you can filter the directory to find, say, every makeup artist you've worked with.
Self-service onboarding
Rather than typing a model's details on set under time pressure, send them a self-service onboarding link. They fill in their own profile — name, date of birth, address, contact — before the shoot.
An onboarding link works once and expires after 30 days. The details a release legally needs are required before the person can submit, so the paperwork is ready when the shoot starts.

Does everyone in People need a ShootHive account?
No. People are directory entries. You give someone a login only if they need to work inside the workspace; most crew and talent never do.
How do models fill in their own details?
Send a self-service onboarding link. The person opens it, completes their profile, and submits — once, within 30 days.
What are day rates used for?
A person's day rate feeds your budgets, so booking them onto a shoot carries their cost into the shoot's finances.
