Payments
A budget plans what work should cost; payments record what has actually been paid. Together they show plan versus reality.
Recording a payment
A payment is logged against a budget line item — the line it settles — with its amount, date, and method. Recording it tells ShootHive that part of the plan has been paid, and the line's paid total updates.
Methods are cash, bank transfer, card, or other with a note.
Line status and the ledger
Each budget line carries a status — planned, confirmed, paid — so you see at a glance which costs are still expected and which are settled. You don't set a line to paid by hand: ShootHive moves it there once its payments cover the amount.
The payments ledger is the studio-wide list — every payment across every budget, in one filterable view. It's where the books are reconciled.

Common questions
What does recording a payment do?

Do I mark a line as paid myself?
No. ShootHive moves a line to paid once the recorded payments cover its amount.
Where do I see all payments?
In the payments ledger — a studio-wide, filterable list of every payment across every budget.
